CS - EORI Number
If you are shipping goods outside of the UK, you will need to ensure you are creating a commercial invoice for the shipments as a customs declaration.
You require 4 copies of the commercial invoices to be printed and signed. 1 copy to be attached on to the box and 3 copies to be given to the driver collecting your shipment. The Commercial invoice is used as a Customs declaration and should have the following information for exporting:
- Shippers EORI number starting with GB –
- Receivers Tax IT and EORI number (for Business to Business transactions)
- Country of Origin (e.g. GB)
- Reason for export (Sale, Return , Gift, Sample etc)
- Product descriptions, quantities, HS Codes, Net weight, commercial value.
- incoterms should be on the invoice as well. (e.g. DAP)
Note: On our portal, we have moved to paperless invoicing to reduce the customs issues, as the portal request key information for each shipment.
Cloudshipping can help you with all the point above, but it's the shipper responsibility to request an EORI number for exporting and importing in the UK. If you are VAT registered, it should only a take a 1-2 days to receive your EORI Number. You do not need to be a LTD company to apply. Please go to https://www.gov.uk/eori
It takes 3 to 5 minutes to apply for an EORI number. If you need a template for your commercial invoice, let us know, and we can send you a blank one to input your details.
Please let Cloudshipping support team know if you need further information on EORI and Customs declarations.
